On September 26–28, 2007, the Department of Justice (DOJ) sponsored the Project Safe Neighborhoods Anti-Gang Training pilot in Dover, Delaware. Approximately 160 law enforcement agents and criminal justice practitioners attended the training, which presented the gang expertise of DOJ law enforcement and criminal justice professionals in a comprehensive curriculum. Intervention, prevention, suppression and reentry strategies were presented, as well as a briefing on national and regional gang trends, a community gang problem assessment, and tips for working with cooperating witnesses and confidential informants.

Washington State University Cooperative
Extension's Youth and Family Violence Prevention project focuses
on violence prevention. It describes efforts that provide practical
education to meet local needs and solve local problems in ways that
build capacities and create environments that foster resiliency.

The National Network of Violence Prevention

CVSP works from a multi-disciplinary

on the causes and prevention of violence, and offers topical searches
on customized databases, offers technical assistance, for the evaluation
and development of violence prevention programs, and maintains a

on the causes of violence and the effectiveness of prevention and
intervention programs.
